S.P.L.O.T. was created in 2009 when Marcilio Mendonca finished his PhD at the University of Waterloo in Canada. Marcilio has been maintaining S.P.L.O.T. ever since even though he's not currently in an academic role. He recognizes the importance of S.P.L.O.T. to the Software Product Line community and to the research and researchers in the field and will continue to support S.P.L.O.T. and the development of science.
Marcilio is currently (2017) working as a Sr. Cloud Consultant at Amazon Web Services in Toronto, Canada.
